Shopify Markets, currencies and taxes
How prices in the widget and at checkout follow the customer's market.
- The widget reads prices from the storefront in the customer's currency and formats them with your store's money format. Tax display follows the theme (Settings › General › Price display).
- Percent discounts are currency-independent.
- Amount-off and fixed-price values are entered in your store currency and converted with Shopify's presentment rate at checkout; the widget shows the converted value, rounded by Shopify.
- Market-specific prices (price lists) are honoured: the discount is computed on the price the customer sees.
Common problems
The cart bar amount for “Spend €100 more” looks off in another currency.
The cart bar converts with the storefront's current rate; small rounding differences to checkout are normal. Use percent tiers where exact thresholds matter.
